Founded by Mark Manross in 2015, Mark Manross Consulting initially operated as PE Central Onsite Workshops. Mark took full control of the company in 2020, aiming to provide high-quality workshops for school districts to enhance their physical education programs. As president, Mark has assembled a team of knowledgeable presenters who cover a wide range of physical education topics. Over the past three years, the company has delivered workshops to school districts across the USA and internationally. All presenters are experienced physical educators with extensive experience conducting in-person workshops.
Mark Manross co-founded and served as Executive Director of PE Central (pecentral.org) for 27 years, managing daily operations and directing popular online programs such as Log It, the Kids Quiz, and the PE Central Cooperative Skills and Fitness Challenges. These initiatives were designed to encourage physical activity among children. Additionally, Mark created the PE Central Online School, offering over 100 self-paced courses for teachers to earn professional development hours. PE Central has received accolades, including being named one of the 101 Best Websites for Elementary and Secondary Teachers by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and receiving The President’s Challenge Outreach Award in 2003 from the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
In 2020, Mark launched Mark Manross Consulting and independently took over the PE Central Workshops. His team of presenters, comprising K-12 physical educators, professors, and retired educators, has conducted over 100 workshops nationwide.
Mark has received several honors for his contributions to physical education, including a Presidential Citation from the Society of Health and Physical Education (SHAPE America) in 2004 and the prestigious Joy of Effort Award in 2005. He served on the NASPE board from 2005 to 2008 and was an invited advisory board member for PBS Learning Media. In 2024, he was accepted as a fellow in the North American Society for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport, and Dance, recognizing his exceptional competence and over 20 years of professional involvement.
